Growing Oysters helps protect the environment, in addition to providing us with a very nutritious food.   They are a **natural solution to water pollution.** Each oyster can filter algae and particles from 190 liters of water per day (about 15l / h). That means an oyster farm with 1 million oysters can filter 3.785 billion liters of water per day. ![](https://27153337.hs-sites-eu1.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/csm_Aqua_filtration_oyster_intermas-32_a92784a7a5-1.jpg?width=299&height=192&name=csm_Aqua_filtration_oyster_intermas-32_a92784a7a5-1.jpg) Farmed oysters can also release millions of eggs each year (if these are not laboratory based). Oyster larvae disperse and colonize nearby areas. In this way, oyster farms can help **establish and supplement wild oyster populations**. Or as an alternative Intermas is proposing the [Oyster Reef Mesh,](https://www.intermas.com/our-activities/aquaculture/ecosystem-restoration/oyster-reefs.html?hsLang=en) to be able to put the dead shells or waste from the restaurants, to make **artificial reefs**, giving a** habitat **to natural banks and other species. In addition, 100gr of shell fix 12gr of Carbon dissolved in the water, this contributes to the **fixation of Carbon (Blue Carbon)**. ![](https://27153337.hs-sites-eu1.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/csm_207_f03ca36ed7-2.jpg?width=700&height=364&name=csm_207_f03ca36ed7-2.jpg) ### About system Oyster farming The production facilities on tables **help to stop the waves and the erosion of the coasts.** **![](https://27153337.hs-sites-eu1.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/csm_84930508A_62dc18e56d-2.jpg?width=700&height=469&name=csm_84930508A_62dc18e56d-2.jpg)** Share [![Share on Facebook](https://27153337.hs-sites-eu1.com/hs-fs/hubfs/blog-facebook.png?noresize&width=24&name=blog-facebook.png)](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https%3A%2F%2F27153337.hs-sites-eu1.com%2Fnews%2Foyster-bags-offers-many-advantages-and-benefits-to-grow-oysters.html%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dfacebook) [![Share on LinkedIn](https://27153337.hs-sites-eu1.com/hs-fs/hubfs/blog-linkedin.png?noresize&width=24&name=blog-linkedin.png)](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https%3A%2F%2F27153337.hs-sites-eu1.com%2Fnews%2Foyster-bags-offers-many-advantages-and-benefits-to-grow-oysters.html%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dlinkedin) [![Share on Twitter](https://27153337.hs-sites-eu1.com/hs-fs/hubfs/blog-twitter.png?noresize&width=24&name=blog-twitter.png)](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?original_referer=https%3A%2F%2F27153337.hs-sites-eu1.com%2Fnews%2Foyster-bags-offers-many-advantages-and-benefits-to-grow-oysters.html%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&url=https%3A%2F%2F27153337.hs-sites-eu1.com%2Fnews%2Foyster-bags-offers-many-advantages-and-benefits-to-grow-oysters.html%3Futm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_source%3Dtwitter&source=tweetbutton&text=Oyster%20bags%20offers%20many%20advantages%20and%20benefits%20to%20grow%20Oysters%C2%A0%E2%80%93%20Intermas%20News) ## Related Articles [![New advanced and affordable oyster growing multisystem: Oyster Basket AP8](https://27153337.hs-sites-eu1.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/actu_Aqua_NewProduct_AP8-2.jpg) ](https://27153337.hs-sites-eu1.com/news/new-advanced-and-affordable-oyster-growing-multisystem-oyster-basket-ap8.html?hsLang=en) Intermas Aquaculture proudly present you a new product for oyster growing.
